高３ English Day

11月17日（月）、高校3年生350名と先生方参加し、「TGの海賊」のテーマとした「イングリッシュデー」を実施しました。生徒たちは小グループに分かれ、さまざまな「島」（＝活動ブース）を回り、英語のみを使ってスピーキングタスクやパズルに挑戦しました。各タスクやパズルをクリアするごとに、「ゴールド」を獲得しました。イベントの最後の挑戦では、集めたゴールドを使用して、「ゴールド積み上げチャレンジ」を行いました。どのグループが最も高いタワーを作れるかを競いました。
優勝したグループは、創造性あふれる工夫で、見事に最も高いタワーを完成させました。
生徒たちは、英語を使ったコミュニケーションや協働作業を通して、達成感を得ることができました。

On November 17th, 350 high school third graders and teachers participated in English Day, as a thematic event called “Pirates of TG”. In small groups, students visited different islands, each with a different speaking task or puzzle. With each successfully completed English task, the groups won “gold,” which was later used for a final “gold-stacking” challenge. The winning team used creative ideas to build the tallest tower of “gold”.
Students gained a sense of accomplishment through communication and collaborative work using English.
